Members of VFW Post 8904, Center, Texas, visited Saturday, June 22 with U.S. Air Force Veteran Jack Wills (photo center) who will turn 95 next month. Wills served 21 years (both Army and Air Force) and retired in the grade of Master Sergeant (E-7). He spent a number of years in the Pacific and had some interesting stories and experiences, said VFW Member Larry Hume. “It was a wonderful visit.” Pictured (to Wills’ right) is his wife, Satchiko, who also answers to Miss Happy. Satchiko means “happy child” in Japanese. To Wills’ left is Dylan Roberts who attends many VFW functions with his parents. Back row (left to right) is Merissa Ratcliff who provides home health care, and is the person who introduced the VFW to Willis, Post Commander Mike Wulf, Will’s daughter Gloria, Post Jr. Vice Derrick Roberts, and Post Quartermaster Mary Roberts.
