An idea almost seven years in the making, the Tooele Education Foundation broke ground for the Ophir Canyon Outdoor Learning Lodge in Ophir Canyon on the afternoon of July 10. State law gave the assets of the former town of Ophir, including Ophir Park, to the Tooele County School District when the town dissolved in October 2013.
