    Scammers targeting Swifties on social media

    DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A new scam in Montgomery County is targeting Swifties, fans of Taylor Swift.

    The Centerville Police Department is warning residents of a circulating scam involving tickets to see Taylor Swift perform live. From Nov. 1-3, Swift is scheduled to perform at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis as a part of the second leg of her U.S. Eras Tour dates.

    In a photo published by the department, the seller claims to be selling tickets at “face value.”

    Impersonator targets local residents in warrant scam

    Police claim the accounts that create these posts have been hacked.

    “These posts are often made from an account belonging to someone you know who has had their account hacked,” said Centerville Police Department.

    Centerville residents suspecting they are a subject of a scam should call Centerville police at 937-433-7661.
