DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — The Montgomery County mascot who teaches residents to reduce, reuse and recycle is getting a new look.

On July 4, Montgomery County Environmental Services will officially debut the makeover of Curby the Cardinal during the Americana Festival in Centerville.

Why are there so many chairs along Centerville streets before July 4?

“The new mascot outfit features more realistic features, an internal cooling vest and allows for better visibility,” said MCES. “There is also a jersey Curby can wear that sports the number 28. The number is symbolic in that there are 28 jurisdictions in Montgomery County.”
