Faith & Blue — a fantastic opportunity to meet and visit with Crook County's law enforcement and first responders — takes place at Pioneer Park Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 17-18.

The event is designed to "bridge the gap between faith-based organizations and law enforcement." It also serves as a food drive for help with local food insecurity.

The program begins Saturday at 9 a.m. with a blessing and flag ceremony. The meet and greet segment will follow from 10 to 11 a.m., with agency administrators on hand. A community barbecue runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The "cost" for the barbecue meal is a nonperishable food donation.

The event will also include entertainment, kids events and booths.

On Sunday, the park will host a community breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. The breakfast cost is also just a nonperishable food donation.

    A non-denominational church service will start at 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 18.

The Faith & Blue event is a join program of the Crook County Sheriff's Office, Prineville Police Department, Crook County Fire & Rescue and the Central Oregon Public Safety Chaplains.

For further information, or for entities that would like to participate in the event, contact Brandi Lange at Brandi.lange@crookcountysheriff.org, or call the CCSO at 541-416-3860.
