CCPRD: out-of-district users to be surveyed

Residents near to the Crook County Parks and Recreation District (CCPRD) in Prineville will soon receive a written notice about an important new survey. This survey is designed to let the CCPRD know if currently out-of-district users want to join the Crook County Parks and Recreation District.

CCPRD is the primary park and recreation provider for approximately 25,000 residents in the City of Prineville and Crook County. These 25,000 residents have access to parks, campgrounds, and indoor and outdoor recreation facilities, as well as programs, events, and camps. These services are paid for by property taxes (example: $300 per year for a home with valued at $400,000). If you live outside of the district, you can also access these parks and programs – for additional fees (up to 75% higher than in-district).

CCPRD is exploring options of expanding its borders to include residential communities that currently fall outside the district. Newcomers to the district would pay the annual tax rather than the higher out-of-district fees and be able to take full advantage of our amazing parks, playgrounds, programs, and activities.

This survey will be available on CCPRD’s website (www.ccprd.org), FB page, and through direct mailers. University of Oregon IPRE interns working on behalf of the Crook County Parks and Recreation District (CCPRD) developed this survey and will be analyzing the results. For more information, go to www.ccprd.org.
