Clemson Athletics had a phenomenal 2023-24, with multiple programs having historic seasons that went down in Tigers’ sports history. It wasn’t the best season for every program, but there was excitement across campus. From top to bottom, each Clemson sports programs had their moments. The Clemson men’s soccer team reclaimed their spot atop the country, winning another National Championship. The men’s basketball team made a historic run to the Elite 8, showing everyone that the Tigers are trending in the right direction in hoops. Though it wasn’t the season everyone hoped for in football, it ended with a thrilling bowl win over Kentucky. Walhalla Utilities Director Leaves for Position with Westminster
Walhalla’s utilities director Scott Parris has resigned after over 20 years, following a tense city council meeting about the utility department’s struggles, and will join Westminster as utilities director. Westminster city administrator Kevin Bronson reached out to Parris after hearing about the meeting and offered him the position, which Parris accepted. Parris’ last day in Walhalla is July 8, and he starts in Westminster on July 9 with a salary of $90,000.

Pekarek, Davis assume new leadership roles in Student Affairs
The Division of Student Affairs recently announced a pair of new leadership roles for two members of its staff, Lesslie Pekarek and Pam Davis. Pekarek has been named assistant vice president for student health and wellness services. In this role, she holds administrative responsibility over Redfern Health Center, including Medical Services, Counseling and Psychological Services and Healthy Campus. She also continues to serve as Redfern’s director of medical services and recently earned the Degree of Fellow from the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP). This distinguished honor acknowledges an individual’s service to family medicine, advancement of health care and professional development through medical evaluation and research.
