    Pedestrian injured by driver after hit-and-run crash in downtown State College, police say

    A pedestrian was injured last week when they were hit by a college-aged driver who then fled downtown State College, the borough’s police department wrote in a press release Wednesday.

    The pedestrian was hit about 2 p.m. Sept. 19 at the intersection of East Beaver Avenue and Locust Lane, police wrote. Minor injuries were reported.

    The driver was described by the police department as a white female with blonde hair. She was driving a black Jeep that had a “KD” sticker displayed in the rear window, police wrote. The department classified the crash as a hit-and-run.

    During the past two decades, State College has averaged about two dozen pedestrian crashes per year.
