Maine Football Beats Colgate 17-14 to Open Season
The Maine Football Team beat Colgate 17-14 on Friday night, August 30th to open the 2024 season. The win was their 1st season-opening win since 2019. Colgate scored 1st in the 2nd Quarter to take a 7-0 lead, but Maine tied the game when quarterback Carter Peevy scored on a 3 yard run. Joey Bryson's extra point kick was good and the game was tied 7-7. The drive took 7:01, and consisted of 11 plays and went 75 yards.

Volleyball’s Valiant Effort Falls Short at Duke
DURHAM, N.C. – A memorable season-opening marathon didn't end Colgate's way in a 3-2 loss to Duke in the first of three matches this weekend inside Cameron Indoor Stadium. Colgate took the first set of the season, 28-26, and handled the third set, 25-22, but the Blue Devils on their home court secured the final two frames to shrug off the Raiders' upset bid. Duke completed its comeback victory with a 15-7 triumph in the final set.
Anthony Wayne pulls away from St. Ursula in matchup of volleyball powerhouses
In what served as an early measuring stick for two of the top volleyball programs in northwest Ohio, visiting Anthony Wayne knocked off St. Ursula 3-1 in an action-packed match Thursday. The Generals won the first set 27-25 and the second set 25-17 before St. Ursula took the third set 25-23. AW then pulled away late in the fourth set, taking it 25-14. Anthony Wayne remained undefeated (5-0) and avenged a loss to the Arrows early last season. St. Ursula, which reached the state final four last season, fell to 4-3 in the early going. AW junior sisters Leah Pike (middle hitter) and Mallory Pike (outside hitter) took control at different points. Leah had 17 kills and Mallory had 14. Sophomore hitter Charley Gardner, who had 11 kills, also chipped in at crucial moments.
