    Alcohol-free bar opens in Chambersburg

    Kindred Spirits is promoting the "zero proof lifestyle" from its location at 49 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg.

    The business held its grand opening on Aug 2.

    Guests will find a variety of handcrafted cocktails, beer and wine, all made without alcohol. Food is also available for purchase.

    Kindred Spirits is open 4-10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 4 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday, and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

    The bar is connected to Zero Proof Market, an online marketplace for premium alcohol-free beverages.

    Weis Markets opens Beer and Wine Cafe in Chambersburg

    Weis Markets, 1056 Wayne Ave., Chambersburg, opened its Beer and Wine Cafe on Aug 1.

    The cafe, part of a remodeling project that began in the spring, offers 450 kinds of beer and 300 wines.

    Other changes were completed earlier in the summer, including an expanded dairy department, an increased selection of take-out and prepared meals, increased selection of specialty cheeses, more organic and natural products in the dairy and frozen sections, and new decor.

    To celebrate the completed renovations, Weis Markets donated $500 each to the Chambersburg Area School District Foundation, Chambersburg Recreation Department and Chambersburg Police Department.

    “With the launch of our beer and wine café at our Chambersburg store, we proudly mark the culmination of this exciting project,” Maria Rizzo, vice president of Marketing and Advertising at Weis Markets, said in a release. “We’re delighted to provide our customers with enhanced convenience and an expanded selection, making their shopping experience even more enjoyable throughout the entire store.”

    UPMC Children's Specialty Services Expands in Chambersburg

    UPMC Children's Specialty Services is expanding its services and has moved to a new location in Chambersburg. Located at 825 Fifth Ave., Suite 204, this new location offers convenient access to nationally ranked pediatric care to area residents.

    Trojan Diner to have grand re-opening

    The Cumberland Valley Business Alliance and Trojan Diner and Sports Bar will host a ribbon-cutting on Aug. 23 to celebrate the business's new membership, new menu items and grand reopening.

    The ribbon-cutting will take place at 2:15 p.m. at Trojan Diner, 1121 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg. Food and drinks will be available afterward.

    The event will also kick off the "Back to Booze Bash," lasting through Saturday, Aug. 25. There will be a DJ starting at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, face painting 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, a fire truck and photo opportunities, daily raffles and drink specials. Guests are encouraged to stop by to check out the activities and try Trojan Diner's new menu.
