Market Day

Downtown Waynesboro
A huge lineup of activities is planned for Mainstreet Waynesboro’s annual Market Day. In addition to dozens of art, craft and business vendors and business’s sidewalk sales on Main Street, check out:
- Live entertainment from Maryland Symphony Orchestra (11-12), Drew Adams (12-2) and Steel Rose (2-4)
- Chili Cookoff Contest (11-2)
- Boro Bakeoff (11:30 a.m.)
- Pie Eating Contest (1:30 p.m)
There will also be a kids’ zone.

Haunted Jail
7-10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 18-19 and Oct. 25-26
Old Jail, 175 E. King St., Chambersburg
Franklin County Historical Society-Kittochtinny takes advantage of its creepy headquarters at the Old Jail to host this annual fundraiser. Some of Hollywood's most horrifying haunts will star in this year's event.
Admission begins at 7 p.m. each night, and guests must be in line by 9 p.m. to go through the haunted jail.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $7 for children ages 12 and under. Buy tickets starting Oct. 1 online at franklinhistorical.org/halloween.
AppleFest
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19
Downtown Chambersburg
Always held the third Saturday of October, AppleFest includes dozens of artists, crafters, business vendors, food trucks, entertainment, activities for kids and more. Downtown Business Council of Chambersburg is the host.

Falling Spring Beer Fest
3-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26
Chambers Fort Park,40 Spring St., Chambersburg
Downtown Chambersburg Inc. hosts this inaugural event featuring regional breweries, including Gearhouse Brewing Co., Barrel House Brewing, Michaux Brewing, Hidden Key Brewing, Cushwa Brewing and homebrewer Berg Brewing and more.
Local band Mockingbird, Mockingbird will perform cover songs spanning five decades, including Van Morrison, Tom Petty, Chris Stapleton and Foo Fighters.
The event is split into two time windows – 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. - each with unlimited small pours and entertainment. Food will be available for purchase.
Tickets are available online at ticketleap.com for $30 through Sept. 30 and $40 after that. Day-of tickets are $45.
Only those 21 and older will be admitted. ID is required.
All proceeds benefit DCI, a nonprofit organization focusing on revitalization and improving quality of life in downtown Chambersburg.

The Rocky Horror Show: Live on Stage
Friday, Oct. 25 through Sunday, Oct. 27
Capitol Theatre, 159 S. Main St., Chambersburg
Chambersburg Community Theatre will take to the Capitol Theatre stage to perform Richard O'Brien's "The Rocky Horror Show," the original musical which was adapted into the 1975 cult classic, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show."
Guests are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Rocky Horror characters. There will also be prop bags available at the evening shows, or guests can bring their own Props are a big part of the Rocky Horror live production experience, so prop bags will be available at the evening shows or guests can bring their own items .

Shippensburg Pumpkin Festival

Shippensburg Fairgrounds
There will be live pumpkin carving on Saturday from artist Danny Kissel, plus fall vendors, food trucks, inflatables, hay rides, pumpkin painting and more.
The festival is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and noon to 3 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.

Corn mazes and fall fun
Country Creek Produce Farm: 3794 Etter Road, Chambersburg; 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays through Nov. 3; admission $8.50 weekdays, $12 weekends (free for ages 2 and under). Admission provides access to 20-plus activities, including the "American Farmer"-themed corn maze, hay pyramid, jump pad, zip lines, mountain slides, petting zoo and more activities, plus hayrides on weekends/Friday evenings. Access the pumpkin cannon, barrel train (ages 2-10), or Ferris wheel for an additional charge. The farm is also open 5-10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays in October for Night Maze and Moonlight Hayrides (not scary!); admission is $13 and includes the regular activities. Stoner's Dairy Farm: 7578 Oellig Road, Mercersburg; noon to 7 p.m. Saturdays, noon to 5 p.m. Sundays through Nov. 3 (last entry 45 minutes before closing); admission $10, free for ages 3 and under. Admission covers the corn maze, mini maze, hayride, petting zoo, pedal cart track, jump pad, one barrel train ride, "hoppity farm," play areas, and access to the pumpkin patch, sunflower field and special-event attractions such as pony rides and magic shows. There's also a scarecrow-building activity for an extra charge and food, drinks, pumpkins and seasonal items available for purchase. Special events: Flashlight Nights, 7-10 p.m. Oct. 19, 25, and Nov. 1; $10 admission. Trick or Treat Night: 6-8 p.m., Oct. 23; free; ages 10 and under only. More information: stonersdairyfarm.com.
