Sholem's main pool reopens in time for Independence Day

CHAMPAIGN — Sholem Aquatic Center will be back in the swing of things just in time for the Fourth of July.

"Starting tomorrow, July 4, the main pool is BACK!" park officials shared on social media. "Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we made the repairs and THANK YOU to our Operations staff for their diligence and quick work. We are excited to announce that all amenities of Sholem Aquatic Center will be open starting July 4!"

The center had previously announced on Saturday that the main pool and lap pool would be closed "for the foreseeable future" due to mechanical issues.

The enclosed slides, tube slide, lazy river and toddler area have still been available in the meantime.
