CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Champaign-Urbana Days is just a few weeks away, and organizers are still seeking vendors and volunteers to join in the long-standing event.

CU Days have been celebrated for more than 30 years. The two-day event aims to honor the twin cities’ shared heritage and culture. 2024’s festivities will feature live performances, local cuisine (including a free bingo luncheon for ages 50+), inflatables, balloon animals, face-painting, and caricatures.

It will also highlight community vendors. As the Champaign Park District gears up for the fun, they are still accepting vendor applications . The deadline to apply is July 26.

“Community vendors are a major part of CU Days,” said Chelsea Norton, Director of Marketing and Development. “We have local, small businesses selling handmade goods and unique gifts alongside important community organizations sharing information about ways they can help CU residents live their best lives! The school supply giveaway is extremely helpful to the community as well.”

Outreach vendors can have application fees waived, so long as they provide school supplies to give away to event-goers in return.

Not only are vendors needed, but volunteers, too. Volunteers work in two-hour time slots and help with set up, games, information booths, and directing vendors to their locations. To sign up, click here .

“Every extra set of helping hands makes a big difference for the success of this event,” Special Events Coordinator Rudy San Miguel said. “Work a shift, then stay at the park to enjoy the music, food, and good vibes!”
