PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD/WYZZ) — Three players from central Illinois had top-ten finishes at the Illinois State Amateur Championship on Thursday in Champaign.

TJ Barger and Parker Wisdom, teammates at Illinois State, and Bradley’s Carter Stevenson finished in the top ten at Atkins Golf Course. Barger finished in third place at -2, seven shots behind the winner Pierce Grieve of Lake Forest.

Wisdom, from Bloomington like Barger, fired a final round 68 which gave him a fifth-place finish at 1-under-par. And Stevenson of Marquette Heights finished tied for tenth place and was 2-over-par for the championship.

Grieve, senior-to-be at West Virginia University, won the title after a three-hole playoff with Marcus Smith of Rockford. Both players were 9-under.

The Illini Elite summer volleyball league continues in Bloomington.
