Illinois Basketball has made the top six schools for five-star point guard, Mikel Brown Jr. Per Joe Tipton of On3, Brown Jr. will choose between Illinois, Louisville, Ole Miss, Indiana, Villanova, and Alabama. According to 247sports, Brown Jr. is the number eight overall prospect and the number two ranked point guard in the class of 2025. He is currently playing for Overtime Elite and is coming off of a solid season. During the 2023-2024 season, Brown Jr. averaged 13.4 points and 5.4 assists on 37.8 three-point percentage.
