Worcester County Health Department Warns of Rabid Animals
WORCESTER COUNTY, MD - Officials say a rabid bat was found in Pocomoke, and a rabid raccoon was found in Berlin. Worcester County Health Officials say this week, a bat was collected from a home in the 600 block of Market Street in Pocomoke City and tested positive for rabies. Additionally, a rabid raccoon was found on Ninepin Branch Road in Berlin.
Ocean Pines Man Arrested for Assault and Vandalism
Police in Ocean Pines were called to a Newport Drive home Thursday just before 5pm where they learned that a neighbor, 38 year old Joseph Pavese, used a screwdriver to puncture the tire on his vehicle. The victim saw this from inside his home and called police – then went outside where Pavese punched him in the face.

Trey is a versatile football stud and only a junior at Cape. He is 6-foot-2, 265 pounds, and he can move. He lines up mostly at defensive end, but he can really play anywhere on both sides of the line of scrimmage. “Trey will be a handful for any opposing offensive line to handle,” said Cape football coach Mike Frederick. “He is strong, fast and physical.” As a junior, he is now providing depth in multiple positions on offense as well. Frederick elaborated, “Trey has huge upside at the next level. He flew under the radar defensively for Cape during the deep run last year. He typically matches up against the opponent’s best offensive linemen. Trey has had a really good preseason, and I expect teams throughout the state will need to game plan against him. Trey is a terrific student as well.”

Wheatley Methodist Church sits in northern Dorchester County, Maryland’s Fork District, on land King George II granted to a William Wheatley during the early 18th century.
