A pair of  Arizona College Prep High School seniors are among this year's Flinn Scholars.

Swanuja Godasi and Dominic "Nico" Castagna are two of the 20 Arizona high school seniors awarded the 2024 Flinn Scholarship. It's a merit-based award that will provide each of them a full ride to one of Arizona’s public universities.

The Flinn scholarship, according to a news release, is a comprehensive package valued at more than $130,000. It includes the cost of tuition, fees, housing, meals and at least two study-abroad experiences.

Godasi has been a KEYS research intern, Indian classical dancer, National Merit Scholar semifinalist and a speech and debate class captain.

Castagna is a College Board National Merit Scholar and was president of the Science is Fun club, an ASU student researcher and a Knights varsity track team member.

More than 1,000 applications were received by the program in October for the 20 awards, creating an award rate of 1.9%.

To qualify, Flinn Scholars must excel in the classroom and typically rank in the top 5% of their graduating class, while also demonstrating leadership in a variety of extracurricular activities both at school and in their communities.
