A Valley survivor of the Holocaust, Oskar Knoblauch, received an honorary diploma from Chandler High School on May 20.

He received the honor for his strong passion for educating the youth, his advocacy for “no place for hate” and his work with the Arizona Jewish Historical Society.

Knoblauch was not able to attend high school and missed a significant portion of his education due to the Holocaust. The diploma was a major honor for Oskar and his family.

Knoblauch has a hologram display at the Historical Society. Students visiting the center can engage in an interactive biography of Knoblauch.

Using interactive technology, Knoblauch’s “Dimensions in Testimony” interview from the USC Shoah Foundation allows students to ask his image more than 1,000 real-time questions related to his Holocaust experience.
