BrightView Health's addiction treatment center team, split between Tempe and Glendale, invites the community to learn more about effective addiction treatment and how group therapy is a key to success, according to a news release.

The resource fair will take place Wednesday, Aug. 21, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Recovery Cafe, 2992 N. Alma School Rd., Chandler. The presentation will begin at 6 pm.

“The presentation will focus on the importance of group therapy and counseling which is instrumental in getting patients’ lives back. Making connections, providing a support system, and networking with others leads to a successful segue back into the family and community,” said Nancy Jo Sutton-McLeod, BrightView Behavioral Health Director.

The resource fair will also offer Raising Canes meals, refreshments, and access to community resources. BrightView Health, an outpatient addiction treatment provider, treats adults and provides psychiatric services, individual counseling, group therapy, and social services to address the full range of challenges associated with a variety of substance use disorders.

“Having each program personalized to meet the goals and needs of the patient, ensures the best chance of long-term success,” said Sutton-McLeod. “Most importantly, participating in group counseling allows you to gain experiences from others’ trials, tribulations and finally successes, learning how they navigated and overcame their own challenges so you can too.”

Sutton-McLeod can take questions on a wide range of issues, including.

    • What is “effective” addiction treatment?
    • How do you know recovery is working?
    • Top five reasons to stay in group therapy.
    • How stigma affects people with (SUD).
