Outdoor Sun Prairie Farmers' Market returns May 4

SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. -- The Outdoor Sun Prairie Farmers' Market will return this Saturday, May 4, city officials said Wednesday.

The market will run every Saturday from this weekend through October from 7 a.m. to noon in downtown Sun Prairie on Market Street around Cannery Square Park. This year's market will feature a variety of local farmers, artisan food producers and other craftspeople from around the area.

"The Sun Prairie Farmers Market continues to grow and expand the exceptional offering of locally grown and produced foods and goods for our community," Sun Prairie Farmers Market Manager Sarah Wells said. " “We are really excited to get the 2024 season kicked off and welcome friends and neighbors back to the market on Saturdays in Downtown Sun Prairie."

There are some special activities set for opening day. Mark Gonwa will perform live music from 10 a.m. to noon and there will be a non-profit community booth for attendees to check out.

There will also be a historic Downtown Walking Tour starting at 10:30 a.m. at Cannery Square, and downtown businesses will have special offerings during market hours.
