    NWS confirms 3 tornadoes touched down in southern Wisconsin Sunday evening

    MILTON, Wis. -- Three EF-0 tornadoes touched down in southern Wisconsin Sunday evening, the National Weather Service confirmed.

    The NWS said one tornado touched down at around 5 p.m. just west of Janesville in Footville. The tornado reached peak wind speeds of about 80 mph, and radar data indicates it remained on the ground for about 22 minutes.

    The tornado traveled northeast through areas of Janesville and Milton.

    A second EF-0 tornado descended over Lake Koshkonong and tracked northeast towards the southwest side of Fort Atkinson with peaks winds of 65 mph.

    A third EF-0 tornado touched down east of Janesville and moved into southern Jefferson County, ending as it crossed over Highway 12. The tornado reached wind speeds as high as 80 mph.
