VIOLA, Wis. -- The Richland County Sheriff's Office announced Wednesday it is investigating a series of July 10 burglaries in Viola, all believed to have been done by three juveniles.

The Sheriff's Office said the juveniles stole a vehicle in the city of La Crosse, and subsequently broke into multiple cars, stealing various items from Viola residents. The juveniles used the stolen La Crosse car to drive to Viola.

The Sheriff's Office said law enforcement attempted a traffic stop that quickly turned into a police chase, in which the stolen car crashed off the road and became inoperable. After the car was totaled, the driver of the stolen vehicle fled on foot. The other two juveniles were located and arrested in Viola.

In order to find the remaining juvenile at large, the Sheriff's Office said it has mobilized additional resource to locate and apprehend the suspect. Anyone with information regarding the juvenile's whereabouts should contact the Richland County Sheriff's Office.
