Sen. Melissa Agard on Tuesday declared victory in the primary to become Dane County Executive.

MADISON, Wis. -- Sen. Melissa Agard on Tuesday declared victory in the primary to become Dane County Executive.

With 87.7% of precincts reporting, Agard held a strong lead in the race with Dana Pellebon holding a distant second. The top two candidates will advance to November's general election.

Dane County Executive

"I am filled with gratitude to the people of Dane County for their support on this journey to become the next Dane County Executive," Agard said in a statement. "Tonight’s decisive victory highlights the broad, diverse coalition we have built in every community across Dane County."

Elected to the State Assembly in November 2022, Agard is endorsed by outgoing Dane County Executive Joe Parisi.
