Severe weather threats are lower from lack of heating - Alex

PLANNING THE NEXT 24 HOURS: Significant heating has not occurred in the area, limiting the chance of widespread severe weather. A few thunderstorms may form Thursday night, yet the severe weather threat looks low. Should a strong storm form, the best chances are in far southwest Wisconsin, and areas near the Wisconsin-Illinois state line. Low temperatures Thursday night will fall into the mid 60s, with some patchy fog possible.

EXTENDED FORECA ST : The weather system will lag into Friday with breezy conditions, although the best chances of pop-up showers and storms will be with the heat of the day. Some of these storms may produce strong winds. There is a slight chance of a pop-up storm Saturday afternoon, yet many places will be dry. Sunday is looking dry and seasonably warm. We will be on the cooler side of a "ridge" of heat in the Midwest next week. This means comfortable temperatures, with slight chances for shower storms that may ride up and over the "ridge," especially later in the week.
