MADISON, Wis. -- Stonyfield Organic, a popular yogurt brand, announced Tuesday it will launch a four-piece clothing collection made entirely of sugarcane textiles.

Stonyfield said the idea to make clothes out of sugar was inspired by its new yogurt, free of added sugar, and the belief that sugar does not belong in kids' lunchboxes. T he limited-edition collection is made out of a plant-based bioplastic derived from sugarcane, a renewable material .

Stonyfield said the production process involves extracting cellulose from sugarcane stalks, which is then spun into fibers and woven into fabric, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional polyester. The clothing line will feature three kids custom-designed tees, along with an adult tee. Each tee is printed with a whimsical, colorful graphic design and playful text.

The brand's added sugar-free yogurt pouches come in a variety of flavors, and are available at select grocery stores nationwide . Stonyfield's Sweet Threads collection is available for pre-sale at https://www.stonyfield.com/sweet-threads/ for a limited time.
