    Madison athlete named to Special Olympics USA Team

    MADISON, Wis. -- A local Madison athlete will represent the USA Team for the Special Olympics.

    Annie Mulligan will represent Special Olympics Wisconsin in Snowshoe Racing.

    Mulligan has been involved with the Special Olympics for more than 10 years and participated in basketball, bocce, snowshoeing, swimming, and tennis.

    Special Olympics USA will send a 160-member delegation to represent the United States at the Special Olympics World Games Turin 2025, being held Mar 8-16, 2025.

    The annual event is comprised of 101 athletes and Unified partners, 32 coaches and 27 delegation members who support team operations. Athletes will compete in eight sports offered: Alpine skiing, cross country skiing, DanceSport, figure skating, floorball, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and speedskating.
