Man in Fitchburg shooting identified

FITCHBURG, Wis. -- The Dane County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man who died after an officer involved incident in Fitchburg on August 12.

The individual was identified as 28-year-old Kevin D. Price of Madison.

The incident occurred at Whispering Pines Condominiums located in the 800 block of Whispering Pines Way.

Officers allegedly found a couple having an altercation. Police said the man was armed with a knife and charged at officers, at which point one officer fired his gun and struck the man.

Price was pronounced dead at a local hospital on Thursday a forensic autopsy was completed at the Dane County Medical Examiner's Office on Friday.

This death remains under investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) Division of Criminal Investigation and the Dane County Medical Examiner's Department.
