BELOIT, Wis. -- The Greater Beloit Economic Development Corporation and the Greater Beloit Chamber of Commerce announced Friday the new Civic Affairs Committee, meant to address a broad range of community issues.

The GBEDC and GBCC said the CAC aims to build on the successes of the previous Quality of Life Committee, which primarily focused on childcare issues.  In addition to family services and housing developments, the new CAC will extend its scope to include public K-12 education, state and federal legislation impacting economic development, public safety, and more.

In response to the need for a broader focus, the GBEDC and GBCC said discussions were held among QLC Chair Seth Frisbee, GBCC President Aimee Thurner, GBEDC President Drew Pennington, and GBCC Board leadership about the jointly held CAC. For more information about the Civic Affairs Committee, or to get involved, please contact the GBEDC or GBCC.
