BARABOO, Wis. -- Large amounts of drugs and guns were found inside the home of a Baraboo man, a criminal complaint filed this week alleges. However, the complaint sheds no light on the man's alleged connection to three police officers who were put under administrative investigation stemming from the case.
William Deppe, 37, faces 24 charges including maintaining a drug trafficking place, possession with intent to deliver cocaine and 11 felony counts of possessing a firearm silencer.
Deppe was arrested on Aug. 13 as part of a joint investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff's Office, Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
According to a complaint filed Thursday in Sauk County, law enforcement watched Deppe leave his home in a truck and followed him to a gas station in Baraboo where they took him into custody.
A DCI special agent allegedly found a loaded pistol in the center console of the truck along with suspected cocaine and THC resin. According to the complaint, it was later determined that Deppe had 3.3 grams of cocaine and 125.1 grams of THC in the truck.
Deppe allegedly waived his Miranda rights and admitted to officers that he sold cocaine and Adderall. He allegedly admitted to owning multiple guns and said he didn't have the proper licenses for suppressors and short-barrel rifles.
Law enforcement then searched Deppe's home, allegedly uncovering 61.2 grams of cocaine, 15 lisdexamfetamine Dimsylate 30 mg pills (an ADHD medication), 60 acetaminophen hydrocodone pills (commonly found in Vicodin) and drug paraphernalia.
Officers allegedly found a rubber container in an underwear drawer that contained pills that tested positive for fentanyl. Over 60 guns, loaded and unloaded, were allegedly found in a gun safe room located behind a faux bookshelf in the basement of the home. Of those guns, 11 allegedly had custom and homemade suppressors.
The complaint alleges that the gun safe room was easily accessible to Deppe's children, who lived in the home with him and his wife.
Online court records show Deppe was issued a $50,000 cash bond on Monday and is scheduled to make an initial appearance on Sept. 18.
The complaint did not detail any alleged connection between Deppe and three Baraboo police officers who are the subject of an administrative investigation. One of those officers was placed on administrative leave last week.
