Man arrested for OWI after allegedly damaging two squad cars

MADISON, Wis. -- Madison police arrested a 56-year-old man Monday morning after he allegedly damaged two police cars on the city's north side.

Police were dispatched to the area of Packers Avenue at Schlimgen Avenue around 1:20 a.m. for another call for service

While officers were investigating the call they reportedly heard squealing tires and a loud bang.

The reported drunk driver hit an MPD squad and pushed it into another MPD vehicle.

Police said they located an open can of alcohol inside the vehicle.

The man was arrested for third-offense OWI.

He was taken to Dane County Jail after being medically cleared.

No injuries were reported.
