MPD: Driver arrested for drunk driving, cited for hit-and-run on the city's north side

MADISON, Wis. -- Madison police arrested a driver Saturday morning for OWI after a hit-and-run crash on city's north side.

Police said the incident occurred at 7:20 a.m. in the 300 block of Troy Dr. where officers were told the victim was rear ended after leaving work and the driver got out and allegedly pounded on the hood of the victim's vehicle before getting back in their car, rear ending the victim again and driving away from  the scene.

Police said the vehicle was located a short time later with the driver passed out in the vehicle that was still running.

The driver reportedly admitted to using drugs and was transported to the hospital where they voluntarily provided a blood sample and was arrested for OWI (1st offense), and cited for hit-and-run.
