MADISON, Wis. -- Madison police arrested a man Tuesday morning who they said drove over the speed limit near a middle school then tried to fight officers.

The Madison Police Department's Traffic Enforcement Safety Team was monitoring traffic near Wright Middle School when officers saw a vehicle going 19 mph over the speed limit.

Police said the driver, a 30-year-old man, did not cooperate with officers and cursed at them. He allegedly tried to drive away from the traffic stop before stopping his vehicle and getting out. He allegedly kept yelling curses at officers and tried challenging them to a fight.

An officer used a stun gun to subdue the man and take him into custody. He faces charges of resisting arrest and was cited for operating while revoked - fourth offense, speeding and not wearing a seatbelt.
