Man taken to custody after allegedly assaulting woman with a knife

DARIEN, Wis. -- Walworth County Sheriff's Office arrested a man after they said he assaulted a woman with a knife while he attempted to take her dog Friday morning.

Police said the man was walking around Pioneer Estates mobile home park in the Town of Darien. Multiple witnesses reported the man fled to a home within the park.

Residents were advised to stay inside for their safety. The Walworth County SWAT Team and K9 were dispatched to the residence and a 52-year-old man was taken into custody and transported to the Walworth County Jail.

The man also was found to have a felony warrant for failure to appear out of Rockford, IL. The woman received non-life-threatening injuries and was treated and released.
