Madison Tattoo Festival to ink up October

MADISON, Wis. -- Over 200 world-renowned tattoo artists will ink up to compete at the Madison Tattoo Festival this October in the Alliant Energy Center, according to a festival press release Friday.

The festival said nationally and internationally recognized tattoo artists are set to compete in contests with 15 different categories, including those for both healed and fresh inks, in addition to exhibiting their work. Reality tattoo stars will also work their craft live, in front of attendees at the festival.

The festival said the event will also host multiple local tattoo artists, including those from Madison's "Lost Lakes Tattoo." Lost Lakes, in addition to tattoo artists, will join other vendors in selling oddities, clothing, and products of all kinds. The event is family-friendly, but those getting tattooed must be 18 with a valid ID.

The Madison Tattoo Festival will be held from Oct. 11-13. Weekend passes and daily passes are available at the door. Most artists have already started booking in advance, but the festival said plenty of others will be accepting walk-in tattoos.
