PLANNING THE NE X T 24 HO URS: Though we briefly saw moderate to heavy levels of smoke from the wildfires out west move east/southeast, the smoke that has been sitting over the great plains expands eastward and will create hazy skies again this afternoon. Although there will be filtered sun, temperatures will still warm into the lower 80s. Wildfire smoke will likely continue to impact our skies the next few days. It will still be breezy this afternoon with wind gusts ranging between 20-30mph. Expect a mild night tonight, with temperatures falling into the upper 50s.

EXTENDED FORECA ST : Thursday is expected to be the hottest day over the next 10, which is when daytime highs will flirt with the lower 90s. After that, we continue to track our conditional rain chance which may arrive by next weekend. Tropical Storm Francine is just off the coast of Mexico/southern Texas in the Gulf of Mexico and if it follows a track north, we may see rain chances near the area as early as Saturday night into Sunday. Right now, it looks like the greatest chance of precipitation and the overall track will stay to our south/southeast.
