Meetra Nahavandi published her memoir "Disability to This Ability," in 2023. She wrote the book after going through a hard time. "During that pandemic and being alone, I really became in a rut of I'm disabled, I can't do anything for myself." "And even though I knew that that wasn't true," said Nahavandi. She was born with spina bifida. "So when most children with spinal bifida are born, there spinal column is protruding from their back. And so they'll need back surgery to like, enclose it." "There are a couple different levels and my level is my limiting or so. In medical terms, it is the most severe form," said the author. She's using her book to tell her story and inspire others. " I talk about travel, I talk about relationships, I talk about bullying and what I dealt with and how I overcame that ,s o it can help anybody." "Honestly, it's not necessarily specific to people with disabilities, but anybody can get a message from this, said Nahavandi.
