Monterey Takes Over 4th Celebration Friday
Monterey will extend the 4th of July weekend with a Friday full full of music, activities, and fireworks. Cultural Administrator Rafferty Cleary said the city’s Independence Day event will feature food vendors, plenty of crafts, contests, and bounce houses. Cleary said the main goal of the event is to bring the Monterey community through the celebration of such an important day.

New Emergency System For Fiddlers Jamboree
The DeKalb County EMA will be using a new emergency alert system during this weekend’s Smithville Fiddlers’ Jamboree. EMA Director Charles Parker said ReadyOp is a notification system that allows them to organize contact information for different groups and then communicate with people in a timely manner. Parker said they have been preparing and training with the system since they acquired it a little over a year ago.

Cause of Death Unclear For Body Found at Tennessee Titans Stadium: Report
Human remains were discovered on the property of the Tennessee Titans’ Nissan Stadium in Nashville. according to NewsChannel 5. The deceased person was not identified. However, NewsChannel 5 reported that the body belonged to a homeless man who “hadn’t been seen for a couple of days.” Police told NewsChannel 5 that they do not suspect foul play.
