The citywide Chalk the Walk contest launches on August 1 with the inspiring theme “OP, the places you’ll go.” Residents are encouraged to create beautiful sidewalk chalk art in front of their homes, around their neighborhoods and near neighborhood schools.
Three outdoor pools close for the season August 6
Three of Overland Park’s outdoor pools close for the season on August 6:. Bluejacket Pool, 10101 Bond St. Stonegate Pool, 9701 Antioch Rd. Young’s Pool, 8421 W. 77th St. Beginning August 7, Tomahawk Ridge Aquatic Center will operate Monday-Friday from 4-7 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday from 12-7 p.m. through September 2.

Solar benches installed at some Wichita locations
