Preliminary data indicates six individuals lost their lives in six traffic crashes during the five-day statistical counting period designated for the July 4, 2024, holiday. RICHMOND, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Preliminary numbers are in from State Police on July 4 holiday traffic deaths. State Police’s Corinne Geller says a total of 6 people died on Virginia’s highway during that 5-day counting period. While that’s 6 too many, it’s better than the 7 in just 2-days of last year’s holiday period. The fatal crashes took place in the City of Richmond and the counties of Bedford, Charles City, Henrico and Wythe counties.
