    Mini Cooper rear ends vehicle and catches fire, driver arrested for DUI

    CHARLES TOWN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One person has been arrested for DUI after rear ending another vehicle.

    According to the Charles Town Police Department (CTPD), on Wednesday July 10th, the CTPD responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of US Route 340 Berryville Pike and Augustine Avenue.

    Upon arrival, officers found that a southbound Mini Cooper had rear-ended a Chevy Trailblazer, which was stopped at a red light.

    The impact caused the Mini Cooper to catch fire.

    Prior to the crash, local law enforcement had been alerted to the erratic driving of the Mini Cooper.

    The driver of the Mini Cooper refused medical assistance and was arrested by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office for DUI causing bodily injury.

    The driver of the Chevy Trailblazer was transported to Jefferson Medical Center with injuries from the crash.

    The Charles Town Police Department is currently investigating the incident.

    No other information has been released at this time.
