An opening date has been set for a North Carolina-based chains entry into the Charleston market with two more stores to soon follow.

Summit Coffee will open its first Charleston-area caf and bakery on Saturday, June 15, at 565 Belle Station Road, just off Long Point Road, in Mount Pleasant, according to a news release.

Summit Coffee, which has 13 cafs around the Southeast, serves organic coffees, including a rotating selection of seasonal blends, and fresh pastries, according to the release.

Summit Coffee was founded in 1998 in Davidson, N.C., and gained popularity for its sustainable approach to coffee that starts in the hands of farmers across the globe, the release stated. Each coffee blend is roasted in small batches to ensure optimal flavor.

The Mount Pleasant space will feature comfortable seating on the upholstered banquette with caf tables, as well as elements designed specifically for families, according to the release. There will also be outside seating on the covered patio. Catering options will also be available via the Long Point Road location.

Established nearly 25 years ago, Summit is a family-owned and operated business that relies on long-standing relationships with small producers across the globe for coffee beans, which are then roasted in small batches, the release stated.

Opening details on Summit Coffee’s upcoming Charleston-area locations are forthcoming, according the release. Their addresses are: Summit Coffee – Old Village, 411 Hibben St., Mount Pleasant, and Summit Coffee Nexton, 408 Brighton Park Blvd., Suite 400, Summerville.
