CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – On Wednesday, July 24 (or “24/7 Day”), first responders in Charleston can visit select convenience store chains and receive anything from a free coffee, fountain, or frozen drink to branded swag and Gatorade as thanks for working 24/7.

The convenience store industry unites for the sixth annual 24/7 Day, hosted by the NACS Foundation . This year’s theme is “Here for Heroes, Here for You.”

All first responders and emergency personnel have to do is show up to these locations in uniform or with a badge to get their free items.

The following stores in the area are participating in this year’s event:

    • Racetrac : RaceTrac is offering a free any-size coffee or fountain drink for all first responders in uniform or with a valid ID.
    • Enmarket : In addition to the proceeds donated from our annual charity golf tournament, we also offer a free fountain drink or coffee to on-duty/uniformed police officers, firefighters, and EMTs each day when they visit an Enmarket location.
    • Scotchman : Free fountain or coffee beverage of any size to police, fire, and EMTs with valid badge or ID.
    • Young’s : Free fountain or coffee beverage of any size to police, fire, and EMTs with valid badge or ID.

Thank you to first responders, police, fire, EMTs, doctors, nurses, health practitioners, medical personnel, 9-1-1 professionals, and Red Cross volunteers for your tireless efforts to ensure people don’t face emergencies alone.
