CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Storm Team 2 meteorologists are expecting scattered showers and a risk of stronger storms on Tuesday.

Meteorologist Grace Lowe says the strong storms could have gusty winds but they will not be a severe threat.

“Storm Team 2 Vipercast has a few showers popping out just after 12 o’clock, a few of those storms could be stronger,” said meteorologist Grace Lowe. “Really not looking at a severe weather threat today but still can see some gustier winds within those stronger storms later this afternoon and even into your evening hours.”

Temperatures will be in the low 90s Tuesday afternoon but the heat index values are still creeping into the triple digits.

“It’s not going to be matching that heat advisory criteria, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be drinking lots of water but we won’t be within the heat advisory today,” said Lowe.
