    Sen. Tim Scott to be married in South Carolina this weekend, what we know so far

    Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) is set to be wed this Saturday, Aug. 3, to Charleston-based fiancée Mindy Noce.

    The South Carolina senator, who ran for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination on a platform based on optimism and hope, proposed to Noce in January on Kiawah Island. Having never been married, Scott has long faced speculation about his marital status.

    “She said YES,” Scott announced in a social media post . “Mindy, thank you for making me the luckiest man in the world.”

    Here’s what we know.

    Who is Mindy Noce?

    Mindy Noce is an interior designer based in Charleston. According to her profile on Atlantic Properties of the Lowcountry, where she is employed as a design and renovations manager, she is a “long-term resident of the Lowcountry” and graduated from the College of Charleston.

    Noce majored in Health Science and first visited Charleston while watching her three older brothers play football at The Citadel. She has lived on the Isle of Palms and Daniel Island for almost 18 years.

    Noce, 47, is a mother of three and previously married.

    How did Tim Scott, Mindy Noce meet?

    Scott and Noce met through a mutual friend at church.

    Many were shocked when Noce appeared last November at a Republican presidential primary debate in Miami, where the two publicly debuted their relationship.

    Where are Tim Scott, Mindy Noce getting married?

    The pair will be married at Seacoast Church in Mount Pleasant, Scott’s home church. The church is a nondenominational megachurch with 13 campuses.

    U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace and former U.S. Rep. Joe Cunningham also attend the church.
