VIDEO: Hundreds of allies join LGBTQ+ festivities in Charleston
CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — Here are some of the Pride Month events happening this June in West Virginia.
Rainbow Pride of West Virginia in Charleston – June 1
Even before June starts the Rainbow Pride of West Virginia had started events in Charleston. On May 31, there was be a Drag Race & Block Party, and the Pride Parade & Festival following on Saturday, June 1. This is the largest Pride event held in West Virginia and featured big names like Ru Paul’s Drag Race contestant Jade Jolie. For more information, click here .
Fairmont Pride – June 8
PFLAG is hosting Fairmont Pride at the Fairmont Greenspace at 105 Adams St. According to a Facebook event , the celebration will be family-friendly and include live music, vendors, and more. Some of the artists scheduled to perform are listed here .
Parkersburg PrideFest – June 8
Parkersburg Pride is holding several events this summer, with the largest being PrideFest in Parkersburg City Park on June 8. More details will be added to the group’s website and social media .
North central West Virginia festivals to check out this June Pride on the Plaza in Wheeling
This celebration in downtown Wheeling will be family-friendly and include live music, food trucks, art installments, and vendor booths, according to a Facebook event . It will take place between 3-9 p.m. at Heritage Port Plaza.
Morgantown Pride Block Party – June 15
Morgantown Pride is holding its annual block party on Saturday, June 15 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Hazel Ruby McQuain Park, which will feature live entertainment from bands and drag performers, as well as food and vendors. Afterward, there will be an afterparty at The Apothecary and a showing of “Luca” and “Bohemian Rhapsody” at the park amphitheater . Pride in the Park in Huntington – June 15
This event at Ritter Park in Huntington costs $15 per ticket and includes PG-13 level entertainment, which will be announced closer to the event. The Facebook event encourages attendants to bring their own beverages, food, chairs and “bougieness.”
Pride in the Park in Berkeley Springs – June 22
This free event will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Berkeley Springs State Park. The event includes performances, food trucks, vendors, games, face painting and more and is advertised as family-friendly. For more information, check out the Facebook event .
Lost River Pride in Lost City – June 22
This event at the Lost River Farmers Market in Hardy County will include live music, food trucks, delicious snacks, and games, according to the Lost River Pride’s website . There will also be a Pride Brunch the following day on June 23.
Every West Virginia monster festival in 2024 Putnam Pride in Hurricane – June 29
More than 500 people are expected to come to Valley Park for this year’s Putnam Pride. According to a Facebook event , there will be local entertainment and vendors as well as community resources from noon to 4 p.m. More details are available on Putnam Pride’s Facebook page .
