CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) — For CPR Awareness Week, the American Heart Association held a free CPR clinic in Charleston Wednesday.

Held at Link Transportation’s facilities and starting at 10 a.m. , the demonstration was part of the “Ride with Heart” program and gave participants an opportunity to learn how to save a life in an emergency.

With West Virginia being a rural state, emergency responders often have long trips to make. This makes it even more important for everyone to learn how to step in and take action.

Several city officials joined the event alongside Link Transportation drivers and office staff. Charleston Mayor Amy Goodwin was also present to deliver a proclamation.
