Charleston Sternwheel Regatta features event-packed Friday

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) – Day three of the Charleston Sternwheel Regatta celebrations are underway all day Friday stemming to Friday night.

The celebrations kicked off at noon with the “Family Fun Zone” in Charleston’s Slack Plaza.

That “fun zone” featured a bubble-making machine, music featuring a live DJ, bouncy houses, food vendors and more in the city’s center.

Then at the Boulevard, Friday afternoon’s Regatta Goers hit the carnival. Carnival rides, food vendors, face painting, Charleston area businesses and more filled the Boulevard stretch, creating what many called the perfect family-friendly night out.

Friday’s night’s Regatta celebration concluded with live music from opener Emily Ann Roberts and music from the main act: Montgomery Gentry featuring Eddie Montgomery.
