    PUBLIC EVENTS

    Food Truck Weekend

    Fridays and Saturdays take on a party atmosphere as diverse food trucks roll into town from 5 to 9 p.m. in Founder’s Square. The fun is amped with live music in the bandshell from 6 to 8 p.m. on Fridays. Bring lawn chairs and enjoy tasty treats, marvelous music and the good company of family and friends.

    Square Scoops Ice Cream Cart

    Every Saturday and Sunday, the Square Scoops Coffee & Creamery ice cream cart begins its trek at Cypress Lodge at noon to tour residential communities, kids’ hangouts and business areas around town until 4 p.m. Listen for the clarion call to enjoy frozen treats and cold beverages.

    Happy Hour at Slater’s

    Slater’s Goods & Provisions in Founder’s Square offers happy hour specials from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, featuring $4 frozen drinks and house wines, $3 draft beer and $5 mixed drinks. On Fridays, an outside bar is set up under the arbor to complement the bandstand music and food trucks in Founder’s Square.

    Summer in the Square

    At Founder’s Square Shade Arbor B, this series offers engaging activities from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on select Tuesdays and Thursdays, ending after August 1. Each session, catering to all ages, explores different creative themes, including shell art, bubble creations, scratch and sketch stencils, coloring, friendship bracelet crafting and rock painting.

    Morning Bingo

    Cypress Lodge is the place to be for a lively Bingo on Wednesday, July 17, from 9 to 11 a.m. The entry fee is $5, which includes 5 BINGO game card sheets. Limited to 40 participants, the event promises fun, excitement and prizes for the lucky winners. Remember to bring your snacks and drinks to enjoy during the games!

    Town Hall

    The Town Hall Meetings are scheduled for Friday, July 19, at 10 a.m. at Lake Timber Lodge and Tuesday, August 13, at 6 p.m. at the Field House. Residents are encouraged to attend one of the meetings to meet the BRRA team, learn about the Association, and contribute to discussions about future plans. Your cooperation in attending only one meeting is appreciated to accommodate all residents and gather diverse input.

    Christmas in July

    Celebrate Christmas in July on Saturday, July 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Babcock Ranch Fieldhouse Café. Enjoy a candy cane hunt, treat making, Christmas “SINGO,” photo ops with holiday figures, festive games, a holiday market, finger foods and refreshments. Each guest gets a complimentary drink ticket at the cash bar. It’s a perfect mix of holiday spirit and summer fun!

    Sundae Fundae

    Celebrate National Ice Cream Day at Lake Timber Lodge on Sunday, July 21, from 1 to 3 p.m. Dive into a delightful afternoon of crafting your ice cream sundaes, complete with a plethora of toppings to choose from.

    New Resident Orientation

    Come to the Residential Association Orientation at the Field House Cafe. Meet fellow residents from 5:30 to 6 p.m., then attend an informative presentation. Parking is available at the Field House Main entrance.

    Hometown Hangout

    Residents of the Babcock Ranch community are invited to the Hometown Hangout at Lake Timber Lodge on Thursday, July 25, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The event promises an evening of connections, light snacks and fun games to foster a sense of togetherness. Registration includes two drink tickets for beer, wine or soda. All are welcome to join!

    Babcock Olympic Games

    The Babcock Ranch Olympic Games will occur on Saturday, July 27, at 8:30 a.m. in Founder’s Square. Teams of 4 to 6 people will compete in 10 thrilling events for the Babcock Ranch Cup. Registration is required for all teams, and spectators are encouraged to join in the fun by registering to watch the games.

    Back to School Bash

    On Saturday, August 3, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Founder’s Square, the Back to School Bash promises to be a delightful celebration of new beginnings. Bring your family and friends to enjoy an array of food trucks, groove to DJ music and participate in fun lawn games. It’s a perfect opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, meet new people and get into the spirit of backto school season.

    Parents’ Night Out: Fitness Fun Class

    Are you looking for a fun evening for your kids? Join the Parents’ Night Out— Fitness Fun class on July 10 and 24 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. For just $5, Kids aged 5 to 11 can participate in obstacle courses, relay races and games. Katie Smith, a NETA certified Personal Trainer, will supervise and provide instruction. Parents can relax while their kids have a great time in a safe environment.

    Power Yoga

    Get ready for an energizing series of Power Yoga classes with new instructor Debra Brooks every Saturday morning in July at Cypress Lodge. From 9 to 10 a.m. on July 13, 20 and 27, these sessions will feature the dynamic Baptiste Journey into Power Flow, suitable for all levels. The class costs $35 for the month. Bring your water bottle, yoga mat and towel and be prepared to sweat!

    Youth Tennis Program

    This summer at Jack Peeples Park, a tennis program for children ages 4 to 10 will run from July 13 to August 31. The program, guided by Andrew Spichkin, with an M.S. in Sports Management, offers beginner and intermediate levels for $125. Participants will focus on developing fundamental skills and improving consistency and accuracy. Remember to bring water bottles and rackets!

    Dance and Theater Summer Camp

    Budding performers will love this oneweek experience led by Stephanie Espinosa for 5-to-13-year-olds from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., from July 15 to 19. Activities include art, theater, yoga, pilates conditioning, jazz technique, contemporary dance, hip-hop and acrobatics for the stage. The cost is $175 for the week.

    Sound Healing Session

    Remember the Sound Healing Session with Amy Noel at Cypress Lodge on July 26 from 6 to 7 p.m. Experience deep rest, rebalance your nervous system and support emotional release through sound and vibrations. The cost is $15. Bring your yoga mat, eye pillow and blanket for comfort.

    Golf Performance Class

    The WellWay Health Club offers a new Golf Performance class led by certified golf professional Debra Brooks. The class is held every Monday and Wednesday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. until July 31. It costs $50 per month and does not require a Well- Way membership. It aims to improve posture, mobility, stability, balance, strength and power for golf while reducing fatigue and preventing injuries. It is suitable for all levels.

    Flag Football Special Olympics

    Special Olympics Charlotte County and Babcock Ranch are teaming up to introduce flag football for participants aged 8+ at Babcock Ranch, starting July 31 at the Field House. This initiative, led by Emily Johnson, aims to offer year-round sports training and competitions for individuals with intellectual disabilities, fostering inclusion and community without fees. Practices will be held on Court 3.

    Hip Hop Dance Program

    Get ready for a new Hip Hop dance program for kids aged 6-12! Running from August 10 to September 21, the program will take place at the Field House Court 3 every Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. It costs $105 and offers an exciting journey through various Hip Hop dance styles. The program aims to ignite a passion for dance in a supportive and non-judgmental environment, focusing on music appreciation, body awareness and fundamental Hip Hop moves.

    Babcock Jams

    This music program is for residents of any age who want to play an instrument or sing. Classes and private lessons are forming, and teachers and students are currently being recruited. Email babcockjams@gmail.com and join the Babcock Jams group on Facebook to discuss your interests.

    Jiu-Jitsu for Kids

    This class for ages 4 through 11 integrates self-defense techniques, physical conditioning and skill-oriented games to improve a child’s motor skills, agility and flexibility. Learn the fundamentals from purple belt Thomas Kurz from 9 to 10 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursdays at Lake Timber Lodge and from 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays at the Field House Café. The cost is $100 monthly for parks and recreation members or $125 for non-members.

    Sunrise Yoga

    In the yogic discipline, the morning is considered a divine time when our spiritual energy is at its peak. This sunrise yoga practice held from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Cypress Lodge, benefits clarity, creativity, peace of mind and body. All levels are welcome. The cost is $8 per class for parks and recreation members or $10 per class for non-members.

    Tai Chi

    Combining physical and meditative training, tai chi uses traditional postures and techniques to strengthen the body, sharpen the mind and lift the spirit. Join this low-impact class from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays at Lake Timber Lodge and from 8 to 9 a.m. at Founder’s Square. The cost is $40 per month for parks and recreation members or $50 per class for non-members.

    Teen and Adult Jiu-Jitsu

    The WellWay fitness studio offers Jiu-Jitsu classes for $80 monthly on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Led by Thomas Kurz, these classes are open to anyone aged 12 and up and offer an excellent opportunity to learn self-defense and improve physical condition.

    Youth Dance Classes

    Stephanie Espinosa teaches creative movement classes for children to improve motor skills, flexibility and social skills through music, song and dance. Classes are on Wednesdays at Cypress Lodge for different age groups: Tiny Toes (up to age 4) from 9 to 10 a.m., Preschool Pastimes (3 to 5 years old) from 10:30 to11:30 a.m., and Little Movers (5 to 9 years old) from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. One adult must accompany each child. The cost is $55 per child per month.

    Adult Contemporary Ballet Class

    Students will learn how to combine basic to intermediate ballet techniques with contemporary dance to create a new movement style and help improve balance, core strength, joint health and the mind-body connection. Classes are held from 10 to 11 a.m. Fridays at Cypress Lodge. The cost is $55 per month.
