Leah Valenti says she’s deeply committed to ensuring the electoral process is free, fair and secure keeping Florida the gold standard of elections.

In January, Valenti, 44, was appointed as the Charlotte County Supervisor of Elections by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis after Paul Stamoulis resigned.

She is running against David Kalin Jr. in the Republican race on Aug. 20. The winner advances against a write-in candidate.

“Over the past year and a half, I have successfully administered two elections, consistently upholding the highest standards of integrity while upholding the laws that govern,” she said. “My passion for the electoral process and dedication to Charlotte County drive me to continue serving in this role.”

Valenti said maintaining the trust of voters is paramount.

“I am determined to build on the successes my team and I have achieved so far,” she said. “With my comprehensive experience, dedication to our community, and proven track record, I am uniquely positioned to continue delivering secure, fair, and well-managed elections for Charlotte County.”

If reelected, Valenti plans to expand on changes she implemented to “enhance the electoral process and trust from voters.” She will focus on technological infrastructure upgrades to enhance security and efficiency, she said.

“This includes investing in advanced voting systems and cybersecurity measures to protect against potential threats and ensure the integrity of our elections,” she said, adding she will increase voter education and outreach efforts so voters know their options and participation in elections.

Valenti said she will bring back the Mid-County Library in Port Charlotte as a polling site once it’s renovated in 2026. It will be the fourth early voting location in Charlotte County.

Valenti said she after two elections she is experienced.

“My background includes nearly two decades of working with national and state public figures, where I have gained invaluable experience in management, overseeing public funds, and handling large-scale operations,” she said. “These roles equipped me with the skills necessary to ensure that taxpayer dollars are used responsibly and that complex projects are executed flawlessly.”
