    Hit-and-run crash causes road to close overnight in Charlotte

    LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)– A hit-and-run crash near a Speedway gas station on Lansing Street in Charlotte left one person injured and caused the road to close near the off-ramp on I-69.

    In a Facebook post by the Charlotte Michigan Police Department, they say the incident happened around 10 p.m. Wednesday.

    Police say a moped was traveling north on Lansing Street when a black sedan with a paper-licensed plate hit the moped and fled the scene going south on I-69. The crash caused the road to be closed for several hours.

    The driver of the moped was taken to a local hospital for serious injuries.
